So, when you use the app correctly, you can connect with potential customers, people will hear about your brand through word of mouth, and eventually, your business will start to grow fast.

But there is a hurdle that comes with having an Instagram presence — and that is, creating your posts and knowing when to post them.

List Down All Your Content Ideas

Before you start posting, the first thing that you have to do is to make a list of all the possible ideas for your content.

The 5:3:2 rule requires you to make 50% of your content relevant to your audience, 30% relevant to your products and services that your audience can benefit from, and the remaining 20% should be personal and fun, basically content that humanizes your brand.

Create a Content Calendar

After you’ve made an exhaustive list of content ideas, it’s time to arrange those ideas on a calendar to determine when they will be up live on your Instagram. 

Just like the previous step, this one requires you to do research before you set the time and date for your posts. This is primarily because there is actually an ideal time to post, but since the ideal time and date is contingent upon so many factors, like the age range of your target market, you need to look at the data. 

It actually takes time to figure out when the best time for you is, but it’s still a good idea to be mindful of it early on. 

Start Making the Posts Ahead of Time

In order for you to be able to post consistently, you have to create your posts ahead of time. That way, you always have something to post, and you’re not scrambling for a half-baked post at the last minute just to have something up on your Instagram. 

If you have a team, you can divide the tasks among your co-workers. For example, one person should create the graphics, while another should work on the captions, hashtags, etc. 

But if you’re working alone for now, then you need to make a workflow for yourself. Stick to this workflow until you’ve finished enough posts that can make your account active for at least a month.

Schedule Your Posts

Once you’ve made enough content, you should now schedule the posts as to when they will be live.
